If you have an issue with your Locarta 2020 hardware and you are unable to track your vehicle(s):
Check your vehicle(s) under the View tab of the Locarta Dashboard software:
If you are receiving GPS Rec messages the selected vehicle is working properly.
If you are receiving No GPS messages it means the vehicle is communicating properly, but the GPS information cannot be acquired. This could mean many things:
The vehicle in question could be under dense trees, in a garage or near a tall building.
If the GPS antenna is covered in some way, or removed from the window, it will not function properly; it must have a clear view to the sky.
The GPS antenna could also be loose, severed or malfunctioning.
If the No GPS problem persists make sure the GPS antenna is connected securely to the back of the Locarta 2020 unit and none of the above conditions apply.
If you are receiving No Comm messages it could mean one of the following:
The Locarta 2020 unit does not have power when the vehicle ignition is off.
The Locarta 2020 unit does not have power due to a delay timer.
The Vehicle is outside the Communications Provider’s coverage area.
The Communications antenna could be loose, severed or malfunctioning.
If all of your vehicles are receiving No Comm messages at the same time, it is probable your Communications Provider is having an issue. If it is a Client computer, there may also be an issue with the Server. In this case: make sure the Server is tracking properly and make sure the Server IP is the same IP that is configured on the Client/Server form of the Client computer.
If the No Comm messages persist all day: confirm the power light is on and physically inspect all wires, connectors, fuses and antennas making sure nothing is disconnected or damaged. Make sure to reset the unit by removing the power plug from the unit. Wait 10 seconds then reconnect power. If this does not solve the issue, the Communications account may need to be reset.
