*Polled units are "polled" by the Locarta Dashboard software at user defined intervals. A Polled unit does not have the ability to log to memory when it is out of coverage. The Locarta Dashboard software must be running and actively tracking a Polled unit for tracking data to be collected. A dial-up Internet connection can be used with a Polled unit.
**Reporter units "report" information to the Locarta Dashboard software at predetermined intervals. When a Reporter unit is out of coverage or when the Locarta Dashboard software is unavailable, a Reporter unit will log to its onboard memory. When the Reporter comes back into coverage or when the Locarta Dashboard software is once again available, all logged data is "reported" back to the Dashboard. Note: Reporter units cannot be used with a dial-up connection to the Internet.
